The Peking Hotel is located in the historical center of Moscow at 5 Bolshaya Sadovaya Street. It was built according to the design of architect Dmitry Chechulin, the founder of the Stalinist Empire style. This majestic style combines pomp, luxury and monumentality. Stalin’s Empire style embodied the features of the French character of the 19th century era.
Since 1956, the Hotel has been hosting guests and becoming a second home for dignitaries, diplomatic delegations and cultural figures. Famous guests include Arkady Raikin, Vasily Stalin, Marina Vladi, Lolita Thores, Dean Reed, Marcel Marceau and many others.
The hotel building is recognized as a monument of history and culture. After more than half a century, Peking Hotel has changed little externally. The only thing that stands out is the modern doors, installed instead of the massive ones with molded handles. The high-rise building with multi-figure bas-reliefs above the entrance, as before, is decorated with a clock tower and a spire.
The hotel has 151 rooms with unique finishes and elegant moldings, ranging from Standard to Premium Suites.
